The story of Alma

Alma was started by Julien Andres, yoga teacher and former chef and owner of La Medusa in Columbia City. During her time on yoga retreats in Mexico, she was inspired by the local people and their art. In 2012, she decided to start importing these unique wares to Seattle. She has since added goods from her travels to India and looks forward to exploring the world and adding even more.

The pieces I have traveled home with are one-of-a-kind, handmade bags, jewelry and fabrics. The colors are vibrant and alive. I chose Alma as the name of my company because it means soul or spirit. These pieces hold that unique spark.

Julien has been bringing Alma pop-up stores to Seattle since 2013. She has recently continued her adventures in Greece – dividing her time between Crete and Seattle. Join her mailing list and follow Alma on Instagram for travel, retreat, and pop-up updates.
